Profile

Dr Bernd Gross has been a partner at Feigen Graf since 2007. His work ranges from individual defence briefs relating to white-collar crime and tax criminal law to the provision of advisory services and the representation of corporate clients, also in an international context. Bernd Gross’s focus areas include banking, capital markets, tax and environmental criminal law, particularly in connection with advisory services in cum/ex and cum/cum proceedings and investigations into money laundering, fraud and so-called greenwashing cases.

Dr Bernd Gross is considered an ‘outstanding strategist’, ‘the most complete lawyer in the market’ and ‘the No. 1 among defenders’ (JUVE). He is ‘highly regarded for his competence, both for individual defence briefs as well as corporate representation’ and, as ‘THE defender’ (Chambers), is ‘an integral player in the market’ (Legal 500). He ‘always advises his clients pragmatically’ (Legal 500) and, as a ‘skilled dealmaker’ (JUVE), is known for ‘getting things done’ (Chambers). In 2025, Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers once again named him ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in commercial criminal law. Chambers not only ranks Bernd Gross in its highest category as a ‘Star Individual’, but also honoured him with its Outstanding Contribution Award in 2026, as the only criminal lawyer to receive this distinction that year. Lexology Index (‘Global Elite Thought Leader’), Leaders League, WirtschaftsWoche, Focus and F.A.Z. regularly recognise him as a leading adviser in commercial criminal law.
